The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria has issued a Practice Direction in response to the COVID-19 pandemic regarding criminal proceedings.
All bail and summons matters (except filing hearings, committal mentions and committal hearings), will be adjourned and parties will be advised of the new date by way of a hearing notice. No attendance by the accused is required. Bail will be extended in the absence of the accused, to the new hearing date.
Contact our office to obtain legal advice and we will contact the Court on your behalf. We will keep in touch with the Court to keep updated on when your matter might be likely to be re-listed. We will stay in touch with Victoria Police about your case to negotiate with them on your behalf.
